Narration which reads some of the stuff we see written on the screens is pointless and throws you out. Sometimes actors were so not convincing in the moments which I loved in the book bc emotions were important in them.
But oh gosh I love how well it depicted the book. I've read it a year ago and from what I remember the movie was so on point with everything! I am shocked!
It's super hard to paint a picture were emotions are the key to understanding the character like Jake, who is and should be, mostly not moved and not moving. The book had easy bc you can just write what he thinks and the movie lacks it so much. I wouldn't recommend the movie to someone who never read the book bc of that, which sucks, but how could they do it? Slap this awful narration over it?

And ofc the end got me like the book did. With every minute the acting was better so I'm glad I got through and watched it all.
