Very good movie, inspired by an incredible true story that is unknown to the majority of people, I believe. It was at least to me and I thought the story was told in a very good way so that after having seen the film one has a good idea of what happened back then.

How realistic this film is to the real events I don't know. While I enjoyed it, I felt it needed to focus less on Hollywood heroics and more on the Ethiopian plight. Still, any film that brings the subject matter to the screen should be commended, but how about a do-over that delves more deeply into the political situation in Sudan?

Was pretty stoked for this after seeing Raffs excellent miniseries The Spy but this turned out to be a huge disappointment.
What they had was a spectacular true story, one of the most amazing undercover operations of all time, the potential for a movie script was practically limitless.
They took that and watered it down through the Hollywood-o-mizer set to 11 again and again until all that was left was this crap and then cast Captain America in the lead to pretty much play Captain America.
A complete mess.

@heimdall77 WHHHYYYYYYY????? omg. what a crap movie. Nothing about this production makes any sense at all. Israeli born Gideon Raff had a turn key, made-for-hollywod story—why would he turn it into American generic shit? <br /> <br /> I did shed a tear for Michael K. Williams, though. :(<br /> <br /> And the closing credits (real events) montage/cinematography featuring Idan Raichel's music is also stunning—if only that flavor had been granted to the film, proper.

An oversimplified yet suspenseful action-thriller.

Third World Country = check.
Masses of Innocent People fleeing a tyrannical government = check.
Some type of "hotel" used as a base = check.
Americans save the day = check.

Why did Brad Pitt pass up this role?!

Since this story is based on true events it holds up from a good foundation. A rescue mission that sings to the good samaritan in all of us and with enough humor sprinkled in to lighten it up at points. I would chalk this up as a decent movie to watch with your honey.

Really good film that I didn't think I would enjoy this much seeing as I watched it purely for the pun in the trailer. The cast was perfect in their roles, but it did feel a little forced including a single woman going into a country prosecuting women? Unless that is what actually happened irl...? Idk. A solid film, definitely worth watching.
