Fantastic cinematography..but we dont really need to see the brutality as we know its happening and that should be enough. The film is uncomfortable viewing, filthy and gritty. It really pulls you in and makes your skin crawl. Who thought Australia was all about sun , sea and surf.

Jesus fucking Christ (mate)...
_American History X_ is like a Disney movie by comparison.
Astounding performances by everyone, most notably Pittaway (Jamie) and Henshall (John). Direction and cinematography were masterful. The editing lost me in a couple of scenes. The score and sound design really amplified the tension and dread.

This was brutal! Extremely grim & dark subject matter, and that's before you even come to any murders. Excellent script, acting and a sparse, chilling soundtrack. Everything really was top notch.

I do not recommend this movie to anime lovers. I was really pissed off. First half was really boring for me. Second half was better but during this movie I had feeling that I am watching movie about relationship of family. And actually it was really like that. But I am really satisfied with murder scenes.

It's another melancholic Australian movie that respects the incident quite well.
It respects the victims which for a story as horrific as this, is spectacular.

I would not recommend this to any one who hasn't read up about the Snowtown murders, but once they do this movie will make quite some sense.

Set up was good. It introduced many sick people and became diferent grades of sadistic viewing. It did remain grounded with a sense of reality for most of it, but a few times it felt like an exploitation movie.
It was a good movie. It's impressive how the makers of this movie could keep the atmosphere going all the way. The plot progression was great. Personally, I don't see much replay value in the movie. It's a powerful punch over the head.

lol at the reply from tweet-actor, what an utterly ridiculous comment.

How about schindlers list or downfall...a film about a pretty serious murderer, perhaps they shouldn't have made them?

your anger about these particular murderers has clouded your judgement on what is a good if uncomfortable piece of cinema. But surely that's the point?

The stories of murderers should not be immortalized on film. Quite possibly the worst movie ever made.

Brutally tense and disturbing. An incredible thriller, but be prepared: it will push you. Recommend only for those with a strong emotional self.

What a devastatingly melancholy movie this is. A constant brooding, not a single ray of hope escapes the slightest smile with the overbearing weight on top. On the opposite end of the spectrum would be the most sugary and innocent 10 second moment from Winnie the pooh, played over and over.

A first time director, and what a polished display of cinema. Tense, filthy, disturbing and highly compelling. A must see for the serious film goer, or those looking to go beyond the convention. Australian cinema at it's best.
