Despite some moments of light suspense, this sequel fails to elicit even a modicum of the discomfort I felt while watching _The Strangers_. Frankly, there is so much WTF here that I really want to know what 'true events' this film is based on. Still, generous reviewer that I am, I was going to overlook all of the WTF that chokes the life from the film and mark it a 5, but then the ridiculous ending happened and forced me to deduct another point.

It's not really bad bad as the comments say. There were fine moments, some cool jump scares, but sadly filled with extremely dumb plots. However, they have to exist so the entire movie could happen, right? I felt over annoyed by that repetitive thing at the end and so was the entire cinema. Could've been much better.

There is a scene where (this is not a spoiler really) someone shots a shut gun and the kick of the gun looks nice. That is the only thing worth of this movie. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS

I did never understand the love some people had for the first one... I doubt l'll ever have to question this for the sequel.
Terrible! Subpar wanna be slasher trash that even tries to be trendy with some neon lights, synthwave and ironic music. The home invasion aspect is pretty much non-existent and they imstead grace us with some classic "who would be so stupid" moments.

The only thing that carries over from the original is the masks. Don't worry, though. No originality leaked in. Standard slasher and not too scary. Had to check if it was PG13 or R after the movie.

While not a dent on the first entry, The Strangers: Prey at Night still evokes some of the same thrills that made it's predecessor so gripping and memorable. Although less impactful, there is still fun to be had with this stylish slasher, for casual horror and franchise fans alike.

For the record I was a big fan of The Strangers and when I heard a sequel was in the works, I was brimming with anticipation. Unfortunately Prey At Night would end up being one of the biggest disappointments I've ever watched. It lacked any sense of the suspense that made the first one so enjoyable and while there is a place for gory straightforward horror, this one didn't "push the envelope" at all. In fact the movie ends up recycling the cookie cutter tropes in short fashion. The Strangers set an amazing foundation but the sequel was built on a sink hole...a total waste, a complete collapse...

Can’t remember much about the first movie but this was certainly memorable and gripped me throughout. An edge of your seat horror thriller with jump scares, together with a fantastic 80’s soundtrack feat. Kim Wilde, Mental As Anything and Bonnie Tyler gives this an edge over other horrors, and also makes this worth watching again. “Hey you there with the sad face, come up to my place and live it up”. You will enjoy it.

I've got more questions than critiques.

1. It's been 10 years since the first movie came out and this is what we got?

2. There's been so many slasher movies, what makes this different?

3. Why even make a sequel when your ideas are dry?

4. Why dose it have an 80's-like style to it? None of it adds anything to the overall quality of the film. It's not even set in the 80's, by the way. For style purpose I guess.

5. Why is the only good scene in the whole movie takes place at a swimming pool?

And finally..."Oh My God There's a Bang at the Door"

The strangers do not so very nice things to reasonably nice people, but despite their dastardly deeds, they do have a good taste in music. So, hey... they can't be all bad, right? The film does fall prey to the usual horror cliches, but it's better than the director's last effort, the execrable 47 Meters Down. Still, its the soundtrack you will be buying rather than the DVD of the movie itself, as while it's a passable effort, you won't be a stranger to what goes on in the film.

Jesus fucking christ. This must be one of the worst horror movies I've ever watched. Damn. Despite some cool jumpscares, the storyline itself was awful, plus the terrible acting. Such a disappointment, especially having high expectations after The Strangers - which I enjoyed very much. Overall, Prey At Night was not it, sorry Roberts. I get it what you tried to do, but yikes, doesn't turned out good at all.
