A good sequel to the original. Not as good, but definitely enjoyable. The story is very interesting. This film is even gorier than the original. There were a lot of annoying characters however, that's my main complaint. But other than that, a great horror film.

Balls to the wall insanity, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is the fevered dream of a madman. A radio DJ becomes the latest target of Leatherface and his family after one of their killings is accidentally recorded during an on-air phone call to her show. Rather than go for scares and chills, Tobe Hooper sets a comedic tone and goes for crazy and weird. Additionally, the visual aesthetic is creepy and freakish. Starring Dennis Hopper, Caroline Williams, and Bill Moseley, the performances are all over-the-top, but oddly charismatic; especially Moseley. Like a train wreck, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 has a strange curiosity to it, but it’s atrociously awful.

"The saw is family" Wow this was definitely different than the first. This was trying too hard to be a parody of itself. Leatherface was so scary in the first and now he has a crush on a girl he meets and doesn't want to kill her.

Happy TCM Day!
A underappreciated sequel. Maybe even a misunderstood masterpiece.

The love for this film has always eluded me. Completely different from original and doesn't even seem to reside in the same universe. Some value as a horror comedy and certainly some good performances, but Cannon's financial woes splash across the screen all too often. A disappointment.

This one's interesting. I rarely have any interest in watching horror sequels because they usually follow the same pattern, trying to live up to the original. But they went completely different direction here, different tone and style, which is great. Unlike its predecessor, this is like the comic book version. Right off the bat you can tell it's more lighthearted. They put the comedy up front, but still works great as horror. It's cute, weird, and silly. The acting is comedic. There's so much madness and insanity delivered in completely different way. Chop-Top unhinged performance is fantastic. I liked how they make Leatherface more human. He's romantic, sympathetic, and he can wiggle. Dennis Hopper gives nice addition to the cast. I think this is a horror sequel done right. It's creative, unique, and has its own charm.

Best of the texas chainsaw sequels for sure. Dennis hopper is great in this as is the rest of the cast. Must see if you have watched the first. Must see even if you haven't seen the first really. But do yourself a favour and watch the first one too.

This one is quite a strange and humorous take on the Texas Chainsaw series. Even the movie's poster cover itself is a mockup of The Breakfast Club (1985). It's the black sheep of the bunch, and it's the first we get to see a soft side of Leatherface, while only being the second film, and Dennis Hopper is a hero in this one!
I definitely recommend the Scream Factory release which includes a ton of unrated material that was cut from the final. Happy 30 years!

Not as awful as I expected based on its reputation. Silly at times but still entertaining.
