A perfect combo of solid story, captivating screenplay, amazing writing, brilliant character development, good emotional content and brilliant cinematography. All together delivers an entertaining action thriller...worth a watch.

I love Director Ben Affleck

This wasn't an amazing movie, but it wasn't half bad either. If you're expecting a purely action-filled heist movie you might want to look elsewhere as I found that this movie dragged at a few places. But other then that, I'd say that this movie was for the most part an entertaining watch.

The Town is a riveting drama that left me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Each performance, no matter how big or small, was great in this film. I particularly enjoyed the relationship between James Coughlin and Doug MacRay (portrayed by Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner respectively), and I think that this is an amazing film that displayed both Affleck's acting chops as well as his directing chops.

Overall a 9.5/10 film.

excellent movie & awesome story thats what i liked most about it not just your typical bank heist movie. started of amazing did drag for a little bit & i was thinking it was going downhill but then picked up & finished great.

Great crime thriller. Love, family, honor and betrayal. Affleck proves himself a director with far more talent then his on screen appearances.

I love a good heist movie and this one is great.

A good script that’s elevated by very strong characters and performances.
It’s not groundbreaking or truly special in any way.
The directing is fairly functional; the clarity during action scenes is okay, and I wish the handheld, gritty look was also more present during other scenes.
It’s a solid film that would’ve been much worse in the hands of a lesser director.

The Town is a heist film with great dialogue, 1 or 2 solid characters and good performances. The real problem with the movie is that it has a lot of "good" and not enough "great". Affleck is a decent director but it didn't quite reach the masterpiece level that I hoped it would.

It was okay. Not great just okay.

Forgettable.

"Not the way I planned it, but for the first time in my life, I'm leaving this city. Maybe if I go, I can stop looking."

Jeremy Renner rocks in this Ben Affleck directed Heist movie. If you love the Boston setting and accents you'll love this. The cast is great from top to bottom, especially Pete Postlethwaite in the small bits he's in and like I mentioned before Jeremy Renner. He walks around like he is one wrong word away from just nuking Charlestown.

Anyway if you love Heists movies you've probably have seen the Town already but if someone how you thought well lets skip this. Who wants to see anything starring Ben Affleck and especially something directed by him too. Well, you are missing out on some great stuff!

Heist movies are fucking awesome and this delivered. Though I do wish there was a little more depth to it, I can't really call it anything other than just 'good'.

Just finished it. Feeling bad rooting for the bad guys.
But that's what this would make you feel.
I kept trying to imagine the TV shows and films about the security forces side (except for Brooklyn 99),
cos in real life, there are all sorts of sides to any story.
Drama, some action. Worth watching.
Over 10 years later, does not look or feel dated at all.

-cute ending with that sunny day* thing, but overall a little unsatisfying, felt like something is missing.
-unfortunately had to watch it in German bc I barely understood a thing (but I think that's a problem with my streaming provider bc I watch everything in english and only struggle when I watch it on sky lol) but they do have a strong accent [/spoiler]
