Whenever I read a book that has a lot of impact on me, I can't just go and start reading a new one once I've finished it. I have to think about it for a while. You know that feeling? That's the feeling I got from watching this movie. It was intense but it was so good. I was confused about the switching between time frames at first but you get the hang of it rather quickly. The Vanishing of Sidney Hall had me under its spell from the very start, simply by putting a ton of questions in my mind and making sure those questions get answered throughout the movie. They don't drop all the answers at the end, you need to keep watching to get all the answers. Which I think was great.

I really enjoyed the cast. Logan Lerman and Elle Fanning are such great young actors. All the characters were so fascinating to me, they really are their own people. I loved it. I recommend this movie, I can't really say why, but I do. I really do.

What a very powerful movie. The story telling is great, and the actors did a great job. I felt that it was a little bit too long, though. But it still deserves an 8 from me. I liked it and in my opinion I think this is a really good work.

Currently on Metacritic, this has a rating of 18/100. Thankfully, the good people on Trakt have seen sense, and given the film the ratings and reviews it deserves. Its not a perfect film - its not as profound as it thinks it is - but there is still a lot to like here, not least the mysteries within the film, and the characters that inhabit them.
