I don't understand why this film is popular? Almost cartoonist variations of "gangs" and an 80's soundtrack might bring nostalgic for some? I was left feeling underwhelmed. I didn't care about the characters and they were left without growth. This is a "cult classic" I don't agree with.

Reminded me of the gangs in my old neighbourhood... The Turn Coats, The Brown Coats and The Duffel Coats The Nik Naks, The Paddy Whacks and The Give a Dog a Bones The Smarty Pants, The Ants in Your Pants and The Sycophants The Super Doops, The Loop the Loops and The Pooper Scoops Back to the film... Its good but dated. Seems more Hollywood fantasy of what gangs were like in New York. I'm no expert, I was part of the Book Worm gang in my town, but surely they were more violent than this? But what do I know?!

Why do people like this film? I saw Warriors once years ago when it was re-released on DVD (mid early 2000's) so maybe it's after my time, and I am missing the nostalgia factor? I just seriously don't understand what this movie had to offer, ever. I would love to hear what the various reasons are that people enjoy this film. Thanks much for your time.

Can you dig it? Well actually yes Mr Hill, I bloody can!

During my schooling as a teenager there were a handful of films that it was deemed cool to love, The Wanderers, Scum, Quadrophenia and The Warriors, and it's perhaps a weird thing to say... but I still feel here in my middle age that these More

Gang warfare in the boroughs of NYC, seen at their absolute grimiest. This is a film that's admirable for its inner fire, and its determination, if not for its execution or storytelling. In a sense, it almost works as a sheer abstract; lingering shots of graffiti-laden subway cars and dark, wet More

Some of my favorite films mix the high and the low. They balance a sense of fun or wild inventiveness with a commitment to emotional truth in their characters or thematic heft. It's a difficult thing to pull off, because making a work wild and then serious, or funny and then maudlin, can be aski More

In a dysfunctional New York City, the charismatic leader "Cyrus" (Roger Hill) assembles all the gangs and declares that it is time for them to overwhelm the police and to take control of their city. Amidst cheering crowds he is promptly gunned down - and the "Warriors" are held responsible. Led by " More
