This is why i like trakt so much. There is no way i would have ever have known about this movie if it wasn't for trakt and snaaark for the comment.

I watched the trailer and it looks good. I added it to my wishlist.

Totally loved this movie as well as the book. The story is catchy and the acting of the main characters was quite great.

While fascism and dictatorship are widely condemned, "The Wave" movie skillfully illustrates how these ideologies can insidiously mask themselves with empty propaganda, ultimately undermining individualism and freedom. Despite its exaggerated portrayal and fast-paced events, this film is unquestionably worth watching. "Long Live 'The Wave'!"

Watching this in 2022 I feel we’re living in times where everyone should watch this movie and afterwards reflect it on themselves. Too many groups like “The Wave” exist these days without their “members” realizing it!

A German high school class project spins out of control, as one teacher's efforts to demonstrate the ease with which a willing public can be enchanted by an autocracy unwittingly ends up glamorizing the act. The blunt, one-note lesson is clearly meant for viewer and participant alike, and that gives the unenviable impression we're being lectured to, warned against the catastrophic risks without fully understanding the flip side. The speed and relative ease with which this diverse classroom is willing to conform to a hive-mind is suspect, as is the instructor's dull misunderstanding of the stakes. It's well-acted and some of its steep, lofty warnings hit home, but the extremes of that message and the melodramatic tones it constantly strikes remind me of an after-school special. A great topic, with a harsh climax, that falls into far too many traps.

Completion totally spoil the movie. I raised my disgust, because overall it was not bad. Wise transmission spoiled by literalism. Too bad.
