There's so much to rave about in this film.

Bruce is directing. Of course he is fight choreographer. But the most praise goes for bringing his sense of humour and humanity to it.

It doesn't always work - the attempt to get food at the airport and frightening a young Italian child falls flat. But in the whole, his humour with the waiters at the restaurant is very funny.

The fighting is sensational. Avoid the terrible dubbed copies and get the Cantonese with English subtitles. You'll be given the full uncut fights and an introduction (for many at least) to the nunchaku. The scenes at the back of the restaurant make this a contender for best Bruce film. He is simply captivating.

The fight with Chuck Norris at the end has influenced everyone from Stallone to the Rock! It is brilliantly choreographed.

(FYI... Play his normal fighting slower and the slow mo faster. They run everything a quarter fast and the slow bits are slowed by a third. Watching them at real speed is an absolute joy)

The final word. This film looked to be the start of a series of Tang Lung films. Possibly Bruce's idea to replicate his Kung Fu TV series idea on the big screen. It would have worked too as this character had real longevity going from fish-out-of-water to gun-for-hire.

(there's only really at most 3 films of Bruce's to recommend to a casual fan. Enter, Way and Fists of Fury - in that order. But for a fan, this is most likely the most revered and most enjoyable watch for the most Bruce for your buck)
