Frustrating, because could have been a really good documentary. The subject matter is suitably unusual and interesting enough that even the most basic of narration would make this a real good film. As it is it is like watching some teenagers over long you tube video. A story told would explain so much more, like why they are in this situation. I'm sorry to admit that I couldn't jeep watching it. It was coming across as really boring when it should gave been the opposite. And that explains the low mark and I was close to be a couple points lower but I don't think the descriptive words used are fair to the film makers, so it was a 4, not a 2.

Failed to resonate with me or hit hard. Weird subject matter though.

I was rather disappointed by this film.
The subject matter of the family was so intriguing and I found myself fascinated with their lives. However, technically, it was quite incoherent. I found myself being unable to follow the passage of time frequently and being unable to determine what was happening. I feel like a bit of narration on anyone's part would have created a much better film.

A troubling window into family cut off, isolated from the world. It's disturbing how alienated these kids are due to a father with such issues, but also touching how they found such solace in film. The fact that these kids were able to turn out as well adjusted as they are, thanks to film is something to behold. It's also comforting.
