Well, I was glued to the screen the whole of the time. So yeah, it was pretty amazing. If you like your thrillers, this is a must see.

This movie is god awful. The storyline is just terrible. It's a complete bore. And it's a shame that they waste such a good cast. The final act is just plain bizarre. The entire movie I kept thinking that I would rather be watching Rear Window, or even Disturbia.

Not to be ~that person~ but I enjoyed the book a lot more. The cast was amazing, I just think this story works better in book format.

Had everything to be a memorable movie, but it is just an okay one you'll watch and forget.

The tempo was all over. The music was great, but way over the top, especially the first ~20 minutes of the film. You don't know what's happening, but you feel manic. I never rooted for any of the characters.

Fantastic acting with a great cast, but a rushed story and over the top editing made this fall flat.

Windows, phobias, knives, shadows of doubt...yup, we’re in Hitchcockian territory again. Thankfully, Joe Wright is at the helm so its a well made film. Still, I wasn’t completely satisfied by the ending...it went south instead of going north by northwest. Sorry! Logic flew out of the window but as that is something that is common within this genre the plotholes can be excused.

Visually appealing, performances are decent and concept is good, although story execution isn't.

Building tension is integral to any thriller, but here we have too much dead space, too many moments that elapse for much too long just to fill time. We also get that the protagonist is drugged out of her mind, but so many disjointed scenes derail the narrative, instead of exposing her fragmented mind in an attempt to make the viewer question her sanity and validity, which I assume is the intention.

As others have suggested, it is indeed a sad homage to Hitchcock's 'Rare Window'.

5/10

According to my fiancé, the book is really good. So imagine my surprise when I wasn't enjoying this film and I turn to my left and she is passed out and not interested as well. I can't explain exactly what it is about this film I didn't like, but it felt like there was a disconnect in the making of this.

I very rarely have an overall negative opinion of a film but this was a baffling collection of bad filmmaking choices. The only thing they got right was the cast, who _almost_ salvage this. Almost every aspect of this film just doesn't feel right, from the music to the direction. It's genuinely quite odd.

This movie is certainly no match for "The Rear Window", but it is fairly good.

I do think that there is a lot of unnecessary talent in this movie. Most of the characters could have been played by no-name actors. I'm kind of guessing that they maybe did the job for some cash due to the pandemic.

The movie itself is pretty good. There are 2 major twists. I saw neither of them coming.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

Amy Adams is great and this movie has a lot of twists that keep you interested, but
as someone who suffered from agoraphobia and hallucinations, it's just very difficult to appreciate when mental health is made into a spectacle like this, because the last story I need to hear is people thinking that the mentally ill person is crazy and you can't trust a word they say. And then "9 months later" she is magically cured of her agoraphobia and looking like she's ready to take on the world? Please kill this narrative, mental health is not a fantasy.
Considering the ratings for this movie, I went into this with fairly low expectations. The expectations were met and well exceeded within about 10 minutes. It’s gripping, it’s dark and it’s deep. You enter into the psyche of a
trauma victim who is quite understandably broken and has a warped sense of reality. That doesn’t mean to say what she sees is not real
and the way the writers and director show it all piecing together is nothing short of a joy to watch unfold.
For those that like a gripping thriller, this is probably worth a watch.

I tried to like it. I just couldn't. To start with the 1st 30 minutes or so was so boring. They tried to make it suspenseful but it wasn't pulled off very well. Then all of a sudden you're at the ending. It just kinda comes out of nowhere. I'm just glad that I was watching it on Netflix and could rewind what in the hell was going on.

I rather enjoyed this little thriller. Much better than I anticipated from the trailer. I especially enjoyed the nods to the classic thrillers within.

Probably one of the best movies I have seen this last 12 months. Haven't read the book, the movie holds attention, the last section much faster paced and surprising actually.

Can I just say... love Brownstones!

This was pretty good. It started off well and then kinda got to the point that this might be a bit of a dud and then BOOM, it changed again and got exciting from then till the end. Well worth a watch. 8.5/10

Well the book was terrible but I wanted to see whether the cast would make it better in movie format, they didn't. The movie was even worse, the guy playing Ethan did a horrible job (he looked disturbed since his first scene) and the pacing was completely off. The way they dealt with the family didn't work at all.

Streamed via Netflix

Probably one of my favorite films released this year. After the long wait, it didn't disappoint! I haven't read the book but it's a psychological thriller about a woman who has fear of leaving her own home, one day she witnesses a murder across the street version so she gathers evidence to show the crime was actually committed. A modern version of Rear Window to put it simply. It's beautifully shot, so thrilling throughout and perfectly captures everything I love about Rear Window and make it very compelling and gripping added with some fresh elements to it. I love the Amy Adams was spectacular! She carries this film. The big reveal could use more build up but overall I'm very satisfied!
