The plot in The Young master is absolutely atrocious. The whole movie is essentially just a series of highly choreographed fights and gags, BUT...this doesn't mean it isn't entertaining in its own way. I've seldom seen Jackie Chan this free to be a martial arts goof, and I actually found myself laughing quite a lot.

A masterpiece The Young Master is not, and far from Jackie Chan's best efforts, but it is funny and a decent watch regardless.

Ranked: Jackie Chan

My rewatch of the Young Masters directed by and starring the legendary Jackie Chan was even more enjoyable then my first viewing of it. The slapstick landed, laughed way more then the silly Hangover sequel I watched yesterday. The opening Dragon/Lion dance scene is still impressive. The fight with the fan is amazing. Fights with benches always catches my eye. The way Jackie uses the dress is funny and cool at the same time and the final fight between Jackie Chan and Hwang In-Shik's bad guy is soo much fun. And to top it all off with end the movie with another joke.

The Young Master is one of Jackie Chan's early classics and a must see for Martial Arts fans. It has loads of humor and impressive fight scenes. Fun way to start the day before going to work!
