This movie is so bad I had no issue taking bathroom break because I didn't think I was missing anything. My understanding of Marvel universe was that it was about heroes battling evil, this movie does that for about 10 minutes the rest is them trying to crack jokes and Thor seems to be trying to maintain a fragile male ego which I thought he dealt with in the very first movie, hence why he became "worthy" of mjolnir. He honestly comes across like a dumb jock, and you have no trouble understanding why Foster left him. A waste of talent of Bale and Portman and a waste of such an interesting character Gorr. Perhaps they'll do a remake, _soon_ .

I don't understand the hate the hate this movie gets. It's feels like the first time Marvel is trying new ideas, instead of going with a giant beam of light shooting to the sky. They are taking the superheroes out of the restrictions of action/adventure and letting them live inside other genres. Love and Thunder is an amazing romantic comedy. Taika's sense of humor is all over the movie, and it let's the cast shine. In the same way that Multiuniverse of Madness is one of the most amazing Mother's Day movie ever, and how WandaVision played with the structure of sitcoms. If you wanted to watch the same movie all over again, instead of asking Disney to make copy and paste movies just rewatch your favorite one. Sure, this movie is not perfect, but at least is approaching superheroes with a different perspective.

Was this parody? I hoped this was parody. I hoped Thor would wake up from a dream or they’d say the whole first half was a play in New Asgard. Oh my word. The last third was probably the saving grace. What potential Gorr the God-Butcher had, what potential a movie featuring eternity had. Garbage. The MCU is done.

As someone that hasn’t really enjoyed the Thor movies, this was a bloody good time. Hilarious, great soundtrack, great villain. It’s a great standalone film in the MCU that is extremely different from most others that Marvel has put out in recent memory. It most closely resembled the feeling I got from the first Guardians of the Galaxy (albeit this is funnier but a lesser plot). Not to mention Christian Bale absolutely steals the show. Might be the best MCU villain we’ve ever had. What was extra compelling with his character was how he was such a stark contrast to the color and humor of everything else. Every time he appeared on the screen the whole narrative did a full 180 which essentially balanced out the humor elsewhere. I had a wonderful time and I can’t wait to watch again!

Rating: 4.5/5 - 9/10 - Highly Recommend

Honestly I really enjoyed this movie. Was it like Ragnarock? No, but it still was funny with some exciting end credits scenes! At the cinemas many people were quite hyped up which made the experence so much better!

The second best Thor movie (Ragnarok still rocks), but its quite enjoyable. Christian Bale is amazing, just like Nathalie Portman. Korg is great too, and oh god I absolutely love the Guardians, even in a small role like this! And, in case anyone is wondering, yes,
Thor will return.
I loved it.

I loved it—mythology and astrophysics combined with Marvel stuff. Still, so many questions are left unanswered. They better bring shit together eventually

I've been a fan of Taika Waititi since Boy and What We Do in The Shadows (The 2014 movie) and I'm so glad they gave him carte blance with first Ragnarok and now Love and Thunder. For me it's a perfect match. This may not be one of the best Marvel movies, but it's so much fun. The comedy fits the characters and there's still a lot of (gorgeous) action to enjoy. The fight in the hall of the gods (gold blood) and the one against Gorr in black and white (big 300 vibes) were stunning. The drama was okay and I did enjoy Natalie Portman's redemption. I never disliked her character, but she was sent of like a boss. Christian Bale is on another level when it comes to acting. I loved every minute of him on screen. As a Ted Lasso fan I couldn't believe my eyes when the first post credit scene played. So stoked to see this actor in the MCU.

I really loved Thor Ragnarok, and I love Taika Waititi as a director, but this movie was a huge disappointment for me. The humour was too much, the pacing felt off, and the actual plot of the film was exceptionally weak. Aside from a few scenes with Christian Bale as Gorr, I really struggled to enjoy this one. There was a really nice use of colour in the film though, and I thought that it ended well, but overall it just truly felt like a mess, and I think it's easily the weakest of the Thor movies. I think the only MCU movie I disliked more than this one was Eternals.

Pro: I had a tonne of laugh
screaming goats, more Lady Thor, more Valkyrie, Omnipotent City was really cool, kids were cute.
Con:
feels for me that Christian Bale wasted for the movie, he could have been a bigger character, the whole movie basically felt like a kid matinee movie. Also, we could see some montage of Gorr killing Gods. Fun and cute yet, but missing the dept. The music was okay, but not great enough compare to Ragnarok. I think the movie was a bit too over the top, too childish, and too random like a theater rehearsal. Also, Thor suddenly gives blessings to the kids tho have his power? Lol. In Ragnarok, he went through a process to learn how to harness all his powers.
Lack lister and goofy. Why is Thor regressing back to acting like a 13yr old boy? This doesnt have the same spirit as Ragnarok, it was an awkward rom-com… Christian Bale carried the part very well but the rest left the impression its was just another pay cheque. Janes story would have been better told in a Disney+ 6 part mini series.

The fourth Thor movie continues to cement Thor as the new comedic character of the MCU. Even more so then the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. There I felt it‘s the perfect combination of drama and comedy. But in this movie it‘s almost only comedy at this point. Don‘t get me wrong, it‘s a lot of fun but considering where the character started with two serious movies it‘s now the complete opposite. Overall still an enjoyable movie that will keep you laughing all the way through but don‘t expect anything else than „a classic Thor adventure“.

To say I'm disappointed is a massive understatement. A fan of the comic and characters that this storyline was based upon, but able to disassociate myself from the necessity that the storyline must be copied identically, Thor: Love and Thunder takes everything from Ragnarok and triples down on it. Where the humour in Ragnarok was palatable, this film hits you over the head with certain reoccurring themes - just to make sure you understand the joke that Taika Waititi is going for. There's a weird unexplainable adjustment in this film, it never feels like a Thor film, it also never feels like it gets going until Christian Bale is on screen. There's a weird throughline involving kids, that never feels relevant or important enough to move the film along. And often the film just bypasses the established rules for the sake of convenience.

While Bale (and Portman as well) are fantastic, they are hindered by an incomplete film that makes up rules as it goes along. Maybe I'm over the MCU format. The stories and the characters I've loved have started to feel meaningless.

Probably the weakest Thor movie, overdone comedy and boring storyline, but of course, still enjoyed it.

@balazs955 I cant say one was better than the other, the vibes for these two movies are very different and imo can't be compared. I had no idea that The Dark World was such a hated Thor movie :joy: I enjoyed it either way.
