Strong cast, great premise and perfect setup for The Avengers. The SFX weren't what they could have been but it didn't take anything away from the film. Thoroughly entertaining.

It's just on my watch list, I'm simply passing by to say: "Kenneth Branagh??? Seriously? WTF is this?"

I'm a bit shocked, strange movie for this guys... debut as director?

I was so incredibly disappointed. It was overall a pretty lame action movie with an excuse of a love story.

While not as bad as some of the other Marvel movies as Iron Man or The Avengers (personally, I only like their X-Men franchise and Spider-Man 1-3), Thor is no must-see. It is a no-brainer that you can watch once, but that's it IMHO.

@dunpealhunter I know what you mean, but you have to see Thor is quite diffrent in this point. Since almost every marvel hero originated through accidents, scientific experiments or evolution - Thor is what he is because he was born by gods, period. So no struggle, that's simply his story.

I forgot how much I loved the Third franchise. One of my favourite superheros is Thor and my favourite villain is DEFINITELY loki. I loved watching this movie again, and it reminded about how good these movies were. Finished this one at 8:11PM

I think the comic book character Thor is awesome, but despite that I find this film a lot less. I had too little connection with some characters and the dialogues were often overdramatic. However, I did enjoy this Viking-Steampunk / Science-Fiction mashup, but maybe that was more because of the appearance of Nathalie Portman... And Tom Hiddleston, of course, as the perfect impersonation of Loki!
The film itself did not really convince, but is a good introduction to Thor, Loki
and Hawkeye
.

I so much hate Natalie Portman as a person! She's a greedy person, one who sells his moral values for money should not have any screen time! This made watching this movie a bit hard for me!

It's a fine superhero movie. I've realized going back to these that we are spoiled with the current superhero movies. Thor is a totally different person in Ragnarok and it pretty much changes the whole tone of the movie. This Thor is much more serious and the story feels a little more grounded. It's a simple story but entertaining. Thor's fish out of water is good for a few laughs. Loki is an interesting villain. Jane is kinda useless and the romance between her and Thor feels forced. The cinematography is really weird in this movie. There were way too many dutch angle shots. It felt like almost of other shot was angled for no reason.

And why isn't Jeremy Renner credited? No love for Hawkeye?

I've been rewatching most MCU movies and got to this one - It's weird going back to these movies after so long, and after the characters changed so much (Thor especially) but I'm surprised at how well this one holds up.

Watching Tom Hiddleston's performance is even more fascinating once you know what Loki is up to, you can definitely see him acting out the deceit, and the camera lingers on him a lot too. The humor also seems a bit less heavy handed than on later movies. My only complaint would be that the Warriors Three are completely expendable, but overall great performances and direction, lots of fun, glad I didn't skip it on rewatch :P

This one wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. Felt somewhat forced at times - romance haven't been developed enough, antagonist of the movie is at his worst in the entire MCU (but oh my god will his character evolve to be one of the best MCU characters)

overall solid origin movie for Thor, but he really didn't shine until Ragnarok.
