Millie Dillmount, a fearless young lady fresh from Salina, Kansas, determined to experience Life, sets out to see the world in the rip-roaring Twenties. With high spirits and wearing one of those new high hemlines, she arrives in New York to test the "modern" ideas she had been reading about back in Kansas: "I've taken the girl out of Kansas. Now I have to take Kansas out of the girl!"

As dated as it is--and it is dated--there are still some legitimately funny moments. The art direction and costuming are great, and the supporting performances are fantastic.

What an incredible amount of yellow peril and yellow face. It's these depictions of people of colour as sinister and perpetual foreigners that directly lead to the rise in anti-asian violence. So problematic.

I've just watched this for the first time recently and I'm in love with how perky this movie is. It makes me so happy and is a great laugh.

More than 35 years after watching it I still remember the good laughs I had with this movie. I remember specially the silly poisoned apple and her crazy outfits.
