Controversial plot, but I'm just in love with the melodrama of Almodovar's cinema. The passion and the colour are just such a welcome breath of fresh air from the trend of bleak, personality-less movies of today. And I have to say, in a way, the controversy works in his favour too, it adds to the boldness of his films. You don't particularly have to agree with a film's morality to enjoy the way it was made. I have to say I did think the ending was a bit crammed and rushed, that's my one main criticism.

Watched on Mubi. I liked: Night of Living Dead, screen on TV; The Invasion of Body Snatchers Poster in the Edition Room of old director; the diference between spanishes and germans... Very enterteinament movie besides the controversial plot.

Instant fave! For me this is a romantic comedy film in a twisted way. I love how Antionio Banderas played his character and combined being psycho, lonely, passionate and mental. Also loved Victoria Abril’s character like how she fell for her kidnapper (coz Antonio is so cute here)! Their scenes ar More
