The 70's, 80's and 90's gave us great spoofs and Top Secret is one of those. It's sad that the last good spoofs were probably Scary Movie 1 and 3.

Well, I didn't expect that. Sometimes I select to watch random movies from random best of lists. "Best of 80's comedies" or something like that. This was one of those movies from a random list. Objectively bad, yet strangely entertaining. It's silly. It's hilarious. It's creative. If you like movies like Austin Powers, comedies featuring Leslie Nielsen or some of the more crazy Bond movies, you'll like this movie too. And as a German myself, it's double the fun... Best part: the fake dada-German and Nation People's Army personnel cosplaying in fantasy SS uniforms. If you don't know anything about the cold war, your should watch this movie. It will teach you why their own citizens hated their communist utopia and why Western culture was so much more appealing. Remember: That movie premiered just 5 years before this state collapsed. Some jokes are funny because they are based on very true premises.

My favorite of the Zucker's spoof films, hands down. I've seen this silly film a hundred times now and the jokes never fail to make me laugh. It's crazy how good Kilmer's comic timing is.

Top notch job again by the Zucker brothers. If you enjoy the comedy of Airplane and Hot Shots, you’ll be right at home here. There’s some great gags in here, spaced out just enough so that you’re always ready for the next one. Very enjoyable.

As spoofs go, this is an adequate vehicle for the handsome and charismatic Val Kilmer to squeeze into his 501s and take on the mantle of American rock star "Nick Rivers". He is invited to take part in a cultural exchange concert in the still militaristic East Germany and so, under the watchful eye o More

_"In women's tennis, I always root against the heterosexual."_

I thought this film had more seriousness than _Airplane!_, the _Naked Gun_ trilogy, and _Hot Shots!_ even though there was less of a story than in the latter two. There didn't seem to be as many gags as in those films. Or at least mos More
