Hopefully the people behind this documentary are able to make more documentary's centred on history in this style because it was truly captivating.

Reminded me of _Dunkirk_. Tense and memorable because of the presentation, but could've used stronger character development. I did enjoy the focus on a tragic experience like that revealing one's true character and it changing you as a person, similar to a film like _Force Majeure_. However, other times it can feel repetitive or predictable, it's not the most cinematic version of this type of story. Very much preferable over the Hollywood treatment, of course, but to me this is really carried by the sound and visuals. The ending leaves things on a heartwarming note, which is nice after all the misery preceding it. 6.5/10

From the worst of humanity to the best of humanity, this is a compelling documentary capturing that tragic Texas day in imaginative style. Sad, yet hopeful. Soul destroying, yet life affirming.

How do you cover a tragic event, a massacre on a college campus, without turning it into an action movie, without giving any special standing to the killer, and while respecting the victims and their stories? Tower found a highly successful approach by using a sort of rotoscoped animation style, overlayed and played alongside the real footage, so to humanise those involved and what they were thinking as it all went down. Truly captivating and engrossing the whole time, while giving you direct access to the thoughts of those involved. Also, given the way the events were treated UT Austin by immediately moving on it gave a sense of closure to those involved, and exposed us to heroes we didn't know existed, like the astonishing tale of Rita Starpattern.

It was like another documentary film that I saw one last week. But this time it was an even bigger scale. This, the original event took place exactly 50 years ago and first of its kind. Since then hundreds of similar events have been recorded. More
