I just did NOT get this movie. Everything felt disjointed and kind of like I was watching at least two different movies at once.
A lot of the time, I felt the music didn't connect with the action, and things didn't really come across at all.

I have enjoyed the earlier Michael Bay Transformer movies, but this one just let me wondering what I just saw.

It was comical to say the least. This movie series ran into the ground by Michel Bay, and I hope it doesn't get a sequel to make it any worse.

The movie has some serious pacing issues. Oh, and amount of product placement... it's just too much.

Yes, story is thin. Characters are weak - but, hey, it´s Transformers not Shakespeare. Liked it better than the last one. Could have been half an hour shorter, though.

@Arias That's exactly what I was/am thinking.

But first I'm excited to see "Pain & Gain" :)

Well, this isn't a good movie, but I managed to watch the whole thing. The only other time that's happened with a "Transformers" movie is the original. "Age of Extinction" is long and there's so much action that it saps all of the excitement out of it.

I'm actually giving it a decent rating because Mark Wahlberg is a fun actor to watch. He seems like the kind of dude you want to have a beer with while watching a ball game. And the effects are really amazing. They've gotten to the point where the live action and effects are convincingly combined. Other than that, you know what you're going to get in a "Transformers" movie, people running away from explosions caused by brightly colored robots.

Ok...

So this is where I left this franchise last time around. I saw Age of Extinction in the cinema and was not that impressed. Mind you, I still liked the action and of course the giant battles, but this ended up being way too long for the story it tried to tell. Can't really say it was boring, but it came close. This rewatch did little to change that opinion.

The most negative thing, IMO, wasn't the lack of story. It was the blatant China pandering going on in the latter parts. One example: “Gotta call the central government for help”, and then you see a Chinese official take that call...then nothing comes out of it. They just needed to get that in there. That Hong Kong needed their help...

I won't say that I didn't have a bit of fun rewatching Age of Extinction, but it wasn't the all out fun time like the others have been. A story with a little more meat on the bone might have done the trick...

Anyway...Since I haven't seen the last Transformers movie, nor Bumblebee, I'm going into unfamiliar waters next. Wish me luck!!!

Will this revitalize the franchise? New cast. Finally. A human plot. Moving away from teenage centric human story to family (dad) centric. Non-CGI car chases. You can tell they were trying to find some magic to pull their audience back in. Still all the CGI action that is expected. I'm going to go from the 4 (poor) I gave the last instalment to a 6 (fair) out of 10 for this one. Despite how the franchise stutters it still seems to make lots of money. [SciFi Action Adventure]

Could have used more T.J. Miller for comic relief. Well since these movies love the human characters so much. Some of the plot is good but the movie too long. With a creepy subplot about the Wahlberg's daughter dating a older guy.
