It's a Karen Black vehicle! She plays 4 characters across all three stories of this anthology. Someone loved her.

The fact that these are all Richard Matheson stories had me geared up to watch this anthology but as it turns out my anticipation was misplaced. The first two stories are lackluster and really not even worth a rewatch.

The final story is called "Amelia" and it's the story that this movie is remembered for. It deals with a Karen Black character who buys a voodoo doll as a gift for a gentlemen friend. Karen has some Mommy control issues that keep her from visiting her man. She ends up cancelling her man plans and enjoying the night with the doll. Well "enjoying" may not be the right word as her newly purchased companion raises all kinds of hell. It's funny to see the way they edited the scenes to sell the doll coming to life. All I could think about was grown men playing with the doll in the same fashion as my daughter played with her own. The only difference being they filmed their playtime.

I won't give away the ending but the final shot of Karen Black sells it.
