Worth the wait. (I have summed up this film in three words but unfortunately trackt will not allow such concise and to-the-point ‘comments’ It’s not even called a review, it’s called a comment, and I know of lots of comments that are 5 words or less, like “no comment” - anyway, sorry about the rant but it’s required for comments on here ‍‍ )

It is in over 95% an exact 1-to-1 translation of the text to screen, with all the benefits and downsides that come with that, not really "adapted for screen" almost at all. I would probably recommend for most people to read the story before watching, as that is the medium in which I think the tale works best, especially given that the story is mostly dialogue – it is not too long and can easily be found online. Nevertheless, the film is a beautiful illustration to the short story, and everyone involved in the production did a wonderful job. Plus, you get a great original song at the end. I am truly grateful that such works of love can still be made today.
