Loved the show but that was a long time ago. Not watched it in years. This was immediately more funny and stupid to me with obvious cryptic dialogue and bizarre characterisation. Stupid long fight at the start. Funny red room. David Bowie's acting. It never ends...
I wouldn't take this too serious. It's pretty fun if you're in the mood. Years ago the younger and maybe more pretentious me would have liked it and taken it more seriously. The styles are interesting. I like how characters display emotions that sometimes shouldn't fit the situation - but what's the point other than to be weird? It's entertaining though and doesn't seem pointless. The horror...? It's not. Weird talking with odd cinematography and sound is stimulating but it's not scary. Maybe it's tense but I remember the show doing it better. Before people say I don't get it I used to like all this kind of stuff and 'get it.' Plot? I expected it to not make much sense so that's OK. I can't be bothered to watch it another 10 times to make theories. In the end Twin Peaks is still an odd place with a dark underbelly and that's what works.
One for fans of the show and those interested in something different.
