A little underatted maybe. Martin is a very aware guy and its his awareness as well as illness that's effected him. The character isn't the usual narcissistic controlling man or crazy killer. He has empathetic qualities. The way Susan's mom calls Georgie/Martin simple upon their first meeting shows how easy people are to manipulate for Martin, and how people judge others instantly. Or was it just a clunky plot point? Both.
The first half has small social and psycological commentary and it's easy to miss. The second half adds the usual slasher and detective elements and did slow down a bit until the end. It has the science bit that feels more like an advert for L'Oréal. Autistim is also described as someone who want to stop as a baby so it's a little dated.
Overall this movie is a decent shock psycho thriller. It's a little cheesy (the portrayal of illness) which I don't mind. The acting is good. Obviously the theme tune is catchy.
I was convinced the main actor was the guy from Birds Of A Feather but they are in fact brothers.
