This is what it would look like if you filmed an entire motion picture in selfie mode with the beauty filter on max.

I agree with @DRNKMNKY's comment. It seemed like one big soft glow/blur effect. The fighting scenes also seemed a bit unbelievable, like even with the enhanced skills o.o Killing a hundred people with one blow?!?

Well... could have been better. While the general idea behind the flick is cool, the adaption wasn't to my liking: why had they to use a soft-focus lens? Why are all the SFX clearly recognizable as such? Why haven't the characters more "depth"?

All in all just a mediocre Sci-Fi action flick.

So, the style of the movie is, shall we call it, interesting. It is also its greatest hindrance as it sets style over substance.

There is a basic story buried here but it only gets marginal exposition. The main focus is on the action sequences, which aren't bad, but ultimately too many of them. The score is way to dominant and the whole dialogue seems to be overdubbed in post production.

And yet, I made it through the end due to the fact, that at about 90 mins runtime, its about right for a quick run through since I own the DVD anyway.

Wouldn't call it unwatchable but at the sime time wouldn't highly recommend it either.

Beautiful woman. A skeletal good vs. evil premise. The rest, all predictable action (how could the vampire/hemophage heroine do anything less than kill hundreds of people to save a young boy?). I'm so glad they told us, at the end of the credits, that all characters are fiction. Violent but gore free. Colourful CGI. Lots of stunt work. Definitely not for everyone but I enjoyed it. Judging the movie within its genre, I give it a 7 (good) out of 10. [Fantasy, Comic Book like Action]

It’s sooo bad, that it’s good...we have a conundrum. _Ultraviolet_ is way over-the-top, cheesy, and flat out ridiculous, yet it’s extremely entertaining and fun to watch. In the war between Humans and Hemophages (a genetically altered sub-species dubbed “vampires”), an underground freedom fighter named Violet comes across a young boy that may hold a cure. The CGI and special effects are especially bad, but the film uses an interesting comic book aesthetic that makes it work. And, the filmmakers have created a rich science-fiction world with some fascinating high-tech gadgetry. At its core, _Ultraviolet_ is a textbook guilty pleasure film that’s honest about what it is and just tries to have fun.
