I liked it, it was really over my low expectations, Kristen Stewart it's great, the story feels good, it's short like Every action movie should be. Nothing new, not the best but it's really enjoyable.

Underwater kept my attention throughout. It’s well shot with a fine cast, decent performances and plenty of suspense.
The film is definitely better than most underwater creature movies. It doesn’t help that the comparisons are Deepstar Six, Leviathan or Sphere though.
I left out the Abyss since just the marines on board are bad. Otherwise it’s the best underwater science fiction film.

It’s difficult to do a phenomenal film that’s completely underwater, it’s limited.

Overall a good film, starts off with a bang and the action continues until the end.

Good all round performances too. Kristin Stewart isn’t my favourite actress, but she really changed my opinion of her in this; she was excellent and pulled off the part and sheer fear very well.

I only gave it a 7, but a solid 7. I enjoyed it, kept me entertained and through in a couple of surprises.

Better than I was expecting, with a little more depth than other movies of this sort. Little chance to catch your breath though as it plunges you headlong into the action from the very beginning.

I didn’t expect Slenderman meets Alien underwater, but that’s what I got from this movie. Pleasantly surprised after looking at the poor reviews.

I like this a lot more than I reasonably should.
It's by no means a cinematic masterpiece but it's a solid thriller that hold the suspense throughout.
If you wanted to be kind you could call it a homage to Alien as they basically copied the Alien plotline and set it under water.
As an Alien fan I guess that would be reason enough to hate it but I can't since they have done it really well and Kristen Stewart tackles the legacy of Commander Ripley spectacularly well.
Stewart totally nails it as a badass mechanic with a grudge against the world and the rest of the cast delivers as well.
Thoroughly enjoyable.

Kristen Stewart stars in a Alien-esque movie that is as predictable and boring as the title.

The plot is non existent and there is no setup to the premise, there is no explantion about the company that owns the drilling or what they are drilling, there is no history at all to learn about the base or the characters and the creatures and never explained either.

The actors do an okay job with the parts that were given but not enought to make the characters fleshed out, they are basically walking tropes and the majority can be pretty annoying for most of the movie.

The visuals are meant to give a feeling of claustrophobia but instead are just confusing as the whole movie is to dark to watch and the camera movements in all the action and scape scenes become violent so the viewer is unable to understand what is happening in the shot.

Underwater is a underwhelming horror/Thriller movie that does little to engage the audience with suspence or the sense of adventure and so it becomes a boring shore intead of a thrill ride.

It's like Alien and Life had a downgrade underwater. I can't say I'm a fan of Kristen Stewart and she wasn't anything brilliant In this either. Well the film has It's lows and highs and it's highs were mostly It's action and that was average and pretty much all this film focused on from the start to finish because It was a very simple plot and did feel It was rushed specially with It's runtime and nothing much to it all but it was watchable and didn't bore me.

Amazing how you go through 95 minutes of a narrative and it's physically impossible care about any of it's characters. Nice special effects, tho!

Really liked this "Alien" meets Lovecraft-style story. It felt like a throwback Sci-Fi/Horror tale. You'd think in a place as large as the ocean, there wouldn't be so many claustrophobic moments but there were plenty of tight spaces, from a collapsed drilling station to the pressurized suits that allowed the characters to traverse the ocean floor.

The final monster is quite a spectacular creature. It's where the Lovecraftian touches come into play.

A strage mix of Alien and Abyss paining 80% in pure darkness and using that fact to get me hopping around cos it is using jumpscare mechanics alot. Good and ok looking effects while the audiomixing is really top notch. Acting overall at a level that does not makes it worth mentioning.
