A lot of action combined with a nice story make this sequel a worthy one. Very entertaining!

Not quite as good as the first. Speedmans character still is the weakest one, there is no developement. But good entertainment and a complement to the whole story.

I love all the series. This one is my favourite as we learn more about selene's family.

Love the first. Can't stand the second.

A lot of people like this one better than the first one, and I can see why. I am so attached to the first one that I can't rate this one better, but there are so many things to appreciate in this one. The werewolves are still awesome, cinematography is still stylish, and Selene is still awesome.

I simply love this movie. I remember being so hyped when it originally released. The story picks up immediately after the first film which is great. The art style of the movie does divert from it‘s predecessor quite a bit but overall it stays true to its dark tone. I‘m honestly still upset that Len Wiseman didn‘t direct a third film in the series. The sequel Awakening came out way too late, didn‘t feature Scott Speedman and moved the story in a weird direction.

Bad writing and direction really crippled this film. The whole idea is that Michael is supposed to be this hybrid werewolf/vampire who's stronger and more capable than any of either species. Yet, he's now spent two movies getting his head kicked in and tripping and falling over everything in sight. Genius!

If only they could have made William more badass. Kind of disappointed to find that after all that time locked up he had a quick finish.

More of the same nonsense from the first one.

Exciting and action-packed, Underworld: Evolution expands the series mythology; which gets deeper and more interesting as the story dives into the Vampire/Lycan origins and Selene’s connection with the clans. In the wake of Selene’s path of destruction the newly awakened vampire elder, Marcus, must restore order and wreaks his vengeance. Kate Beckinsale brings her A-game once again, delivering her best performance to date. However, this time round Beckensale doesn’t have a strong supporting cast to work with. And unfortunately, the film sacrifices character and story development for action and special effects. However, Underworld: Evolution still manages to be a fun, thrilling adventure.

Ez a rész is hozza az előző film színvonalát, bár itt már kicsit jobban belekeverik ezt a hibrid meg mindenféle vérvonalat… Ennek ellenére még mindig élvezhető, új helyszínek is bekerülnek – kifejezetten vicces magyar feliratokat olvasni, illetve hallgatni a rendőrség magyar beszédét.
Selene még mindig nagyon badass és imádom, és azt is, ahogy level uppol. Azonban Michaellel még mindig nem vagyok kibékülve, de azt hiszem itt már egy kicsit jobban megszoktam a jelenlétét. Nem tudom mi bajom van vele még mindig, de egy kicsit úgy érzem, mintha nem illene a képbe. Hmmm…
Összességében egy jó folytatás, ugyanúgy el lehet szórakozni rajta, mint az elsőn.

Much better than the first part.

Evolution is pretty much more of the same with everything that is good and bad carried over. Picking up moments after the previous film, the only real obvious visual change is the location - moving from a generic Eastern European city to a generic Eastern European forest. The filmmakers expand on the mythology hinted at in the last film, but they seem to have recognized what worked well before, relegating Speedman's largely bland character to a supporting sidekick and expanding on Beckinsale's character. Again there is an emphasis on style over any real substance, the film perhaps less heavily aping the Matrix films than its predecessor, and the central villain, whilst visually compelling, can't compare to Bill Nighy, who returns in a small cameo to remind the audience how to chew scenery and spit out ridiculous lines with venom. It's still entertaining with enough development in the story and characters to ensure this doesn't just feel like a retread of what has gone before.

Underworld: Evolution picks up right where Underworld ended. Michael and Selene on the run and Marcus waking up. For some reason, they decided on more action with a little less story to go with it. In some instances, they even rewrite some of the lore from the first one. Weird choice...

The acting, outside of the mains, seem also a bit more forced than the first one. The visual style is, yet again, fantastic. There's something about the looks of these movies that works well for me.

...and then we have one of the reasons I keep coming back to this series. Kate Beckinsale with (or without) her gothic ensemble really gets the blood flowing. She's perfect in this role. Some casting agent really earned his pay when he cast her as Selene.

While not as good as the first one, Evolution caters to the action-loving element of my brain so I enjoyed rewatching it none-the-less.

Kate Beckinsale is the only highlight here.

The characters are all dumber and the leads are hornier, but like the first one you watch because the film has such personality.
