Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) awakens from a coma to discover that someone has taken his identity and he teams up with a young woman Gina (Diane Kruger) to prove who he is.
When I first watched Unknown years ago, I loved it. I found it fascinating, however after rewatching and digging deeper into it, while still enjoyable it is hard to ignore the many flaws the the story has.

Liam Neeson in another thriller, what is there not too like. He is just as good at playing these characters as anybody, he is always let down by an absurd script. The suspense was there for the most part and I was curious to find out what is actually happening. There is a slight bit of action that executed well enough, and the camera work is pretty slick.

It had an interesting enough premise, and one that if done correct, could be a really great movie. This sadly does not. It is a slow paced movie that tries to build up tension for the big reveal. For the most part, it had that, the biggest let down was the reveal itself. It was very underwhelming, and it left me feeling quite annoyed if I am honest. It felt like the director or screenwriter ran out of ideas and said yes, that will do.

Neeson and Kruger were a fun pair to watch working together and seeing them uncovering the clues of a conspiracy was nice to see. It kept me intrigued trying to put the pieces together and figuring out what is going on.

While Unknown never broke any new ground, it offered enough mystery to keep me interested until the dire ending that left me disappointed. 6/10.
