I was surprised by how much I liked this. I went in with low expectations of just a dumb action movie, which it still kinda is, but it is also a decent sci-fi and the action is pretty great. The beginning is a little slow but once Grey gets Stem then it picks up. Logan Marshall-Green (or better known as the Tom Hardy look-alike, Tom Hardly) does a good job here. He moves like a robot pretty well. The action is great. There are plenty of action scenes and the short runtime makes it move fast. There are a few decent laughs too. The cinematography was very interesting too. The way the camera moves in certain action scenes are really cool, it makes a normal scene stick out as something special. One of the best things was the world it set up. Modifying humans with different upgrades is really cool. The whole gun in the arm is stupid but a crazy, cool stupid and I want to see more of that. I would like a sequel.

Like Deus Ex meets Crank, Upgrade is a stylish, gritty but somehow humorous thriller which is a blast from start to finish.

fun movie. the concept has been done before, to a point -- yet, the material felt fresh. I was a big fan of the camera movements when "activated"

just saw this movie and...what an unexpectated diamond that was?! the atmosphere of this movie somehow was similar to the blade runner! the plot, the acting, the fighting scenes geniously made! and the ending was unexpected and brilliant. one of the best movies i have watched for a really long time. and i have watched almost every single scifi movie that has been out there!

The fighting scenes were kind of awesome. Those camera moves and combat choreography made me think about _The Matrix_.

What a great movie was this..Stop talking about propaganda and other bullshits.This movie came out of a genius whose name is Leigh Whannell and who is an expert in writing scripts and now he did great job in directing part too.

Movie has great soundtrack,some really cool fighting choreographies and great plot..You can't be bored neither for a second until the end it's breathtaking.Check this out guys you are going to be suprised by how much you are going to like this movie.8.2/10 and sorry for my bad english :)

P.S Tom Hardy is everywhere!

Amazing film all-around! To it's core it is a straight forward action movie with some bits of comedy. Gripping... and ground-breaking cinematography by Stefan Duscio. Amazing choreography as well, it felt very John Wick-ish!
Also Director and Writer, Leigh Whannell did a fantastic job!!(before this all he directed was Insidious Chapter 3

I didn't expect much from this movie but it completely surprised me, despite movies like ex-machina this movie was realy deep and make you think about future of AI, so if you like action, tech, sci-fi, crime,philosophical movie this movie is the whole package.

This was a pretty good movie. Better than I expected it to be. The fight scene between [spoiler] Grey and Fisk [/spoiler] was pretty nice. I thought it was neither good or bad, at first, until the ending. The ending is what made me give this movie a 10/10 rating, instead of an 8/10 rating. I feel like the ending made a perfect [spoiler] introduction for a second movie. [/spoiler]

I liked this movie pretty well. Good use of camera. The premise is a bit played, but this movie executes it perfectly.

It was filmed in Melbourne (not the one in Florida), and as someone from there it shows. It seems crazy that this is meant to be set in New York.
I've never seen my home town tried to be passed off as a different place in a movie and it was quite jarring. Do people in LA get that all the time?

Unrelated anecdotes aside, strong recommend for this movie.
