UPPENA (2021) REVIEW

Uppena is a musical, touching love story which is beautiful but not magical. The typical story of a villainous father disagreeing with her daughter's choice in love and ruining things in between. This story gives us a strong sense of deja vu which keeps us wanting for something different in every scene. With a twist which may be polarising in many people's opinion comes to the rescue and binds everything in the end. The First half is sweet, simple and melodious where you hear music given by Devi Sri Prasad which is mesmerizing especially Nee Kannu Neeli Samudram. The second half seems dragged credits to an unnecessary extension of the duration. The performances make this movie what it is.

Leading from front is Vijay Sethupathy who is at ease with his dominating performance. Shines throughout the entire screen space he had. Vaishnav Is handsome , outstanding in his debut . Carrying a perfect body language for the Performance he gives his best. The Show Stealer is Krithi as he faces of Vijay in the end. She is going to be a star in future. The debut director Buchi Babu Sena has done a fabulous job extenuating brilliant and top notch performances.
