There aren't many movies I would describe as insultingly bad, but this is definitely one of them.
This... what is this? It's not scary enough to be horror, not funny enough to be comedy. There was a moment when I thought the goal was dark comedy, but no, it's just poorly made.
This begins like a goofy '80s movie, where college guys are off to find a stripper for their frat house. This takes them to the worst strip club in the sketchiest part of town.
There is so much weirdness packed in here, however none of it adds up. Our lead vampire, Katrina, doesn't talk; there is nothing interesting about her, and it's alluded to three times that she's Egyptian. Why are we bending lore? Mummies are Egyptian, vampires are Transylvanian. Get it right!
The movie is a mess of odd camera angles, bad writing, _Suspiria_ lighting, and huge tonal jumps. I mean, I think they were going for a _Big Trouble in Little China_ feel, but completely missed the mark - shockingly, _Vamp_ was released only sixteen days after _Big Trouble_. I could almost appreciate the surreal direction in which this was made, but since none of it works, it just comes across like a jumbled nightmare.
Probably the worst part here is Duncan. He's in the movie as the wacky guy. While Gedde Watanabe was used in several '80s movies for the exact same purpose, it simply doesn't work here.
