Venice Calling

_Venice Isn't in Italy_ isn't simply unfunny, it's so bad it's like a punishment sent direct from God and I was amazed that so many people in the cinema had committed such heinous sins that we deserved to be condemned to the stale and tepid hell that was this movie. Watching it felt like having my eyes continuously jabbed by the wrong end of a bendy plastic picnic knife. Yet as bad as I felt for the other audience members not laughing in unison with me, I felt even worse for the actors who were all quite good and didn't deserve the film they were straddled with, laden with clichés and bad directorial choices made at every turn. If you're looking for someone else's nostalgia, re-watch anything by Neil Simon, even something you hate, because you'll hate it less than this.
