A boy with leukemia, Victor, spends his days in the hospital making drawings of fires and firefighters. The mother, who knows he has little time left, contacts a fire station and arranges for the boy's dream to be fulfilled. He gets to be a firefighter for a day. The experience is so positive that his prognosis improves and he survives for another time. As the end approaches, all the firefighters make a final visit via a fire escape.
