_"Why would I have to guard a dead man stuck in a two-foot refrigerator!?"_

The first film was 100% better. This one was more along the lines of 'alright' but still 'enjoyable.' The storyline was way more ridiculous this time around with
the whole voodoo aspect,
which was almost borderline dumb, and things were happening, one after the other, without there being a feeling that anything is _happening._

I hope that makes sense.

On the other hand, you could argue, "That was the point." And I agree with that, I suppose. My "issue," so to speak, is that "the point" seemed to fall short. Don't get me wrong, there were still redeeming aspects throughout the film, but they could only do so much.

At the same time, this film was lowkey as entertaining as the first one, the more I think about it. Initially, it didn't come across that way, but now it does. The humorous bits were pretty decent, in actuality. There were a few iconic moments, like
when Bernie first started dancing, Brenda and Arnold, every bit with Arthur Hummel, and other bits.
And the soundtrack. Oh, the soundtrack. Words can't describe how much it resonated with me.

Some other thoughts:

- At first, I thought the supporting characters were better than in the first film; Gwen Saunders was pretty much the only significant one. And I still hold that sentiment, to an extent. But Charles and Henry started becoming lackluster fairly quickly: and
Larry's "love interest" instead of Richard's this time around
was barely even that. Arthur Hummel was the only one who remained good throughout the film.

- I think the best specific thing about this film was the soundtrack. Every time music came on = it was an absolute banger. There was one in the first one, but it hardly stuck out, except for 'Hot & Cold' by Jermaine Stewart. However, in this film, the soundtrack was 110% the best thing to come from this film.

- The second best thing was probably Arthur Hummel. His addition to this film was great, and his moments elevated the enjoyment experience. I'd say his parts were the best displays of comedic moments. No disrespect intended, Bernie, Larry, and Richard: although I guess
the voodoo dancing Bernie gag
was pretty decent. There were moments with Larry and Richard that were pretty decent as well.

More minor thoughts:

- I forgot about the title sequence. It's a cool one, I guess. Basic and simple. The music during its duration was the best part.

- Also, rest in peace, Steve James (Henry). He ended up dying later in the same year this film was released. He seemed like one of the "bigger" actors/actresses in this film unless you count the three main ones, and maybe Barry Bostwick; _for sure_ Barry Bostwick.

- The dialogue for Charles, and the way it was delivered by Tom Wright, on top of Tom's voice, reminded me a lot of Donald Glover. It seemed similar to how Donald's voice sounds, how he delivers lines, his body language. At least in some of the SNL skits. Or rather, Donald Glover's voice, delivery of lines, and body language are similar to Tom Wright, like Charles in this film, at least.

- It probably isn't _that_ impressive, but I thought Terry Kiser brought his "A-Game" when it came to doing the dancing bits. Major props to him.

- For some reason, that tour guide woman in the submarine "sounded" like and reminded me of Brittany Murphy, and I haven't watched any films with her in it yet. Not only that, I've only heard her "voice" once in that SNL skit, 'The Leather Man.' That may not have been her actual voice. I don't recall how it sounded, either. Rest in peace, Brittany, by the way.

Yeah. As I said at the beginning, the first one was better. This one was still alright, though. If you liked the first one, you'll probably like this one as well. Or maybe not. If you didn't like the first one, I'd imagine you most certainly wouldn't like this one.

Even though this film didn't bore me or anything like that, a bit of relief is within me that it's time to move on to other films, now that I've watched both _Weekend at Bernie's_ and _Weekend at Bernie's II._
