Wow! This is an amazing re-imagining of Peter Pan. This is much more of a Tragedy, bordering on Horror.
This is definitely not a Peter Pan movie of yesteryor.
This is a beautifully shot movie. The kids are all amazing, and all unknown actors. They really acted their hearts out.
Devin France and Yashua Mack potentially have long acting careers ahead of them. I especially liked Mack's performance - it felt very grown-up, like he put a lifetime of knowledge and wisdom behind everything he did.
I say - definitely give this one a chance - you might actually really like it.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

An alternate in every way possible.. really VERY different!
Don't expect anything remotely resembling the Peter Pan story as you know it.
It couldn't keep me entertained.
Still waiting for something to happen, after an hour.. I fast forwarded to the end.
Maybe good for someone, in any case..just be warned!

The director creates a story of anti-growth, a fantasy starring children who don't want to be adults, who prefer to escape reality by getting on a train with an unknown destination. The camera follows the adventures of this group of children jumping for joy and exaltation of friendship. There are echoes of Terrence Malick, although Zeitlin's interest walks a different path. The film claims hope and daring of youth.
