I've grown up a lot since before dinner when we last talked.

This movie is a CLASSIC, literally ended homophobia, and is the only reason gays have rights today.

If this film didn't have the cast it does, I wouldn't be holding on to what I liked about it and just put it down to a film that just didn't hit the comedy mark for me. I liked it's quirkiness but somethings I just found stupid, which is a shame. Maybe it's just not what I expected and I might appreciate it more on a rewatch now I know what I'm getting myself into. I didn't feel like some of the actors were given enough to work with to reach their full potential. Like what was Elizabeth Banks' character? I hope they were all self-aware as if they weren't, I'd throw this film on the bad pile.

Absolutely overhyped. Continually falls flat when it strays from parody.

This may have been the single dumbest movie I've seen since the Zucker brothers were in their prime, but it kept me laughing even as I told myself the jokes were too stupid to be enjoying so much. Featuring a crazy cast of alumnus from no less than four different sketch comedy shows (including about 75% of The State), it's overloaded with sight gags and rudimentary puns. Over two dozen primary characters compete for the chance to shout out the next punchline, none of which have the depth of a sheet of plywood, while the plot is merrily thrown into the brush and abandoned at several points. It's the film you'd have made with the crazy guys who lived down the hallway in college.

I think the unique aspect of this film is that while spoofing so many other kinds of films it managers to avoid becoming exactly like so many other parodies that we've seen.

What an amazing cast. Strange combination. You get the comic book store owner from _Big Bang Theory_. The oldest daughter from italics _Major Dad_. SNL cast. Frasier cast. All over the place.

I do love how they are doing the spoof of all the summer camp movies at the same time without being too schtick about it. They cover them all. Kind of an interesting MacGuffin with Skylab. The movie was set in 1981 and Skylab crashed back to Earth in 1979. I will allow it.
