Studio Ghibli has a way of making you grow fond of a place or a house. The end was unexpected but it was heartwarming !

Why does studio ghibli want to see me a sobbing mess? This movie was beautiful; sentimental, heart warming, terribly tragic and all together perfect.

This movie made me cry to where my throat was hurting.

I kinda guessed how it’s gna play out halfway through the movie but it still made me a sobbing mess

man... I threw myself in tears... What a beautiful and emotional movie... it hat me so deep I couldn't even go back to what I was before... Sublime... I can't find a right adjective to express how amazing and touchable it was...

Another amazing story filled with emotion. Also, the ending was quite shocking considering what was insinuated earlier in the movie.

Beautiful and heartbreaking. I still had tears in my eyes even after the credits had gone.

On the second watch is when I started bawling my eyes out of all the anime films I've seen so far, this one hits me the hardest in the feels, yup more so than "Spirited Away", no dis-respect to that film at all, but this one the drama and the supernatural mystery that weaves into it is just so damn good.

Especially after a certain silo scene where everything seems like it hits the "darkest hour" trope, only for a little light to be shined in, and then when the whole backstory was truly revealed, honestly I went along with it, true there is a bait and switch thing that everybody is gonna think about when they watch this film. But it's oh so tragic yet so understandable and the character drama is so rich and brilliantly written with such heartfelt emotion; gosh I just can't believe how good it is.

such a beautiful movie wow

This movie was perfect and amazingly beautiful in all sections, from the story to the visuals and the characters. At many times it was sad but in a good way. The ending was unexpected and the story distinguishes itself from anything else that I have seen in my life. It is my favorite movie of all time. It was the first anime feature film I had ever seen and it makes me want to start watching more anime.

What a beautiful film, I wasn't too sure at the start, like I didn't really know where it was going and was aiming for a 6 or 7/10. But by those last 20 minutes this film blew my mind, made the entire 110 minutes worth it and can't wait to watch it a second time because of that. - 8.5/10

you just have to wonder how do studio Ghibli know how to play your feelings right. even when you have nothing in common with the characters to relate to, they will still get you invested. such a heartwarming film.

I was like "oh my god the girlfriends" and then there were no girlfriends anymore .... was so pretty, heartbreaking but hopeful in the same way

A gripping tale from beginning to end. I was wondering where they were going with it all, but everything fell into place at the end. And I was pretty glued to watching the movie.
