I thought t this was a good movie for Elvis without the entire focus was trying to fit in a song. Elvis’s performance was good and genuine. Great underrated movie. And Elvis is in it so it’s all good!

Another rather untypical Elvis movie in that there ist not much singing. But the story is unfocused and all over the place. Nothing much in there about the promising writer. [spoiler] Maybe they wanted a serious story but all that jumping from one girl to the next does not help to provide sympathy for the guy. The movie could have been saved by the end had Irene actually died and that would have been the motivation for Glenn to go to college. [/spoiler] As it stands it is a rather dull movie with a little bit too much notion of religion for my taste.
