Easily one of the best romantic comedies of 90's about strong women.

this is one of the movies that kicked off that it was okay to be strong, independent, smart and not be a b****. after over 30 years this movie still shows the way a good part of the USA still is. corporate America still worships the MCP's. fortunately there are more and more men who find that behavior crude and realize some of the best minds are in women's bodies

Katherine the boss was okay at the start but then she made a seriously wrong choice towards the end, but that is insignificant compared to the 2 critical misunderstandings between tess and katherine, which created a seemingly one-in-a-million lucky bite that eventually went in favor of "the little people" ... our briliantly-minded, hard-working protagonist, tess mcgill. Great script!

That's how you make a movie about strong woman without all that crap and propaganda they shove in your face these days.

“It’s asking for the taking...” From director Mike Nichols comes the satirical office comedy Working Girl. When a skiing accident hospitalizes her boss, ambitious secretary Tess McGill takes her shot at the big time by posing as a broker in order to put together a business deal that her boss had tried to steal from her. Unfortunately the script is rather weak and unfocused, unsure of what kind of comedy it wants to be; romantic, fish-out-of-water, etc. Yet enough of it works to make the film entertaining, and the performances by Melanie Griffith, Harrison Ford, and Sigourney Weaver are especially good. Additionally, Carly Simon provides an excellent soundtrack that’s quite soulful, and includes the pop hit “Let the River Run” (which is a perfect anthem for the lead character). It’s a bit uneven, but Working Girl is fun and has a positive message about following one’s dreams.

Best secretary film. For anyone who's ever had a terrible boss.
Life in the typing pool was fun once. Most people don't realise what lifes like as a secretary.
