Utter garbage. As if the first one wasn't bad enough they decided to make a sequel with even more plot holes and horrible acting. Waste of time

Terrible is an understatement, wasted 20 minutes of my time when I could have watched something worth watching. Absolutely rubbish , acting qualities are non existant, could not bare watching this BS after only 20 min.

The first Wyrmwood was a fun little surprise with lots of interesting ideas and great low budget, bloody action. The follow up doesn't quite recapture that magic, but is still a good entry into the zombie genre. There are some slower parts here and there, and the scope is limited, but it's still pretty darn fun most of the time.

Film 143 (Goal: 300) of 2024:

I really enjoyed the first film of the Wyrmwood series, a low budget, action-zombie Australian film that delivered on gore, interesting ideas and managed to keep the interest up with great pacing.

The sequel is however a step down. Thankfully, not to far down but it is inferior to the original. The contrivances of the plot to get things to where they need to be, stands out greatly. And there are moments where characters survive things they clearly shouldn't, removing any of the stakes the film had earned.

The things that made the first film so interesting are here. But after a movie and a half of the same, the second half of this film feels like a chore. Thankfully the run time is kept to a minimum.

Wyrmwood: Apocalypse is still a nice addition to Australia's growing portfolio of films, and another unique entry into the multitude of Zombie films out there.

This Aussie zombie apocalypse sequel is so over-the-top fun and never slows down. It's violent, stylish, campy, and full of kinetic energy. Compared to the first film, this one's better in nearly every aspect, which is how a sequel should be. From the story, the action sequences, the gore effects, the characters, and it looks more polished as well. It moves at an insanely quick pace that keeps it entertaining with fun characters that help carry you through and the camerawork is also creative without giving you motion sickness. There's a nice bit of dark humor as well. Hopefully this is not the last one!

I think the first one was a little better but I love how they turned the whole "zombiepunk" thing up a notch in this one. That
limbless zombie hooked up to a motorcycle
was hilarious. I'm hoping for a part 3.

Oi! Aussie zombie splatter punk! Not as charming as the first part, but still pretty good.

If you like low budget zombie movies that don't take themselves too seriously, this and the original are worth a watch. There have been a lot of zombie movies and most angles have been covered but these movies have a couple of new twists on the genre.
