The movie isn't fast paced, but not boring. It gives you context and exposition. Good to pass your time pleasantly without having to think who, why, where, when, etc. The actors were great, some of the finest in South Korea, with experience in kdramas and movies. The action and fight scenes were good, realistic, but the camera work wasn't ideal, as they kept shaking the cameras to avoid any mistakes on the fight choreos. Understandable, but it's 2022, the fight scenes generally should be more realistic, and they have been on occasions, than my dream of finishing uni. Lastly, the narrative "Korea good, Japan and China bad" is overplayed.

This would have made a nice video game. Just imagine playing that story from multiple perspectives... It had many nice images and a few interesting concepts in terms of characters but for a movie it took itself much too seriously for being so unbelievable. Never would these kind of official intelligence services or police behave even remotely this way. Which would have been just fine if the movie did not try to seem grounded.
The whole thing did not connect to me. It somehow did everything only 80 percent and lacked heart.
For example the action wasn't bad, it just felt like someone was trying to imitate something and did not quite grasp it.

Still I really liked that they took the ruthlessness to another level by removing the archetypal hesitation of seemingly ruthless characters almost completely in the case of Jee. Plus despite many non-native speakers it was remarkable how naturally all the different languages were implemented. (One of the elements that make this movie grounded)
