Low key drama about a gay teenager who is sent to live with her Jehovah's witness relatives after the death of her father. There's nothing earth shatteringly original in the narrative, but the central performance by Anwen O'Driscoll is likeable and the score, although quite manipulative does it's job really well - so much so that the last 10 minutes caught me off-guard emotion wise.
7/10

A powerful story! Powerful performances! From their very first encounter, the chemistry between the primary characters was electric. Both lead actors are new to me, but I will definitely be following their careers (I have to take that back, Anwen O’ Driscoll was in BURDEN OF TRUTH, a show I also loved, and I should have picked up on that because for most of the movie, my mind was screaming, “Where do I know her from?!” I settled on, “It must be that she looks so much like Rose Leslie.” Which she does.) It’s shame that this independent film will have such limited exposure. It was almost impossible to hunt it down to watch. Made in Canada, unapologetically set in Canada, using Canadian actors. Why can’t we learn to give our art to the global community? We make great art! I give this film an 8 (powerful) out of 10 [Romantic Drama]
