Bad ending but the rest was great. It started off relatively serious but then turned into bizarre madness very quickly.

@beth333 Yeah I never realized she was the main suspect in the end. That’s pretty dumb.

I love this movie so much. A completely bad ass lead slashes her way through some bad guys and a few great twists. I don't understand why people have a problem with the ending. The ending is amazing!! Seriously, I don't know why Sharni Vinson isn't in a million horror films by now. Also....of course, I can't not mention the original horror icon, and my personal favorite, the one and only Barbara Crampton. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!

@kurtmoney The very ending is goofy plus I don’t get why she would even be the main suspect. When there were killers with masks.

Finally had a chance to see this... it's been two years since it's premiere at TIFF and some evil mastermind deceided to move the release date further up ;(. Thankfully it did not disappoint.
It's pretty much a crowd pleaser so I would recommend to watch it in the cinema. Barrett's script puts it well above the regular horror fare we get this days and Wingard does a good job directing. It's of course not without flaws; the shaky cam in the beginning is a bit much and the usual horror logic applies. That said: it doesn't really matter. Your dark soul will have plenty of fun with it.

I love it. Masked killers who don't know who they're messing with; for once.

A pretty entertaining slasher. Some goods kills and a badass chick. I liked the ending.

I found the concept fun that the damsel in distress is actually the one the killers should fear. The end kind of sucked but was a good movie nevertheless.
While Adam Wingard is a director where I get excited when his name is a attackched to; since seeing You're Next.

A rich couple hosts an anniversary party with their children in a remote mansion, when suddenly, the body count rises.

Sometimes masks are scary and deadly ambushes are, too. But this movie was not. Slasher films lose their impact when the killer is revealed and "You're Next" does so way too early. The family members were one-dimensional but how couldn't they be when the run time is 100 minutes and there's a cast of at least a dozen.

It all boils down to one woman going "Rambo" on a bunch of hit men. There are certainly opportunities to extract social commentary from this, but it's nothing more than dysfunctional, reprehensible people getting their comeuppance as viewed through the filmmaker's morality filters.

"You're Next" is just another, slightly prettier, slasher film.

What the fuck at the acting, immature dialogue between the grown af so called siblings, 30 year old looking mom of 4, 40 year old apathetic teenage-goth acting girlfriend (???)

The only saving grace this has for me is it being one of the only horror films with someone “smart” enough to fight back all the way through.
