Great little movie - yes i know its nothing like the book... i enjoy a slow burner and an open ending - so this was my cup of tea. Beautiful scenery , beautiful soundtrack. I think the promoters lost a trick by having Chris Pine on the poster.

This was just weird. I’m not saying I didn’t like it, but it did weird me out. I totally didn’t recognize Margot Robbie. It was strange seeing her so plain.

Disappointed at the changes the film makes from the book. Its a quiet, understated drama, worth watching but fans of the novel will be frustrated.

I don't know. I liked the first part of the movie. Then the triangle drama started, and it just went downhill from there. The romance parts and the story in general just felt all to generic and unrealistic after that point.

And that is a shame because the first part of this movie has lots of great chemistry, and it's overall interesting. It was never boring, more like the opposite. It kept me wishing constantly that I knew more about them, and that I would see them and their relationship evolve. I very much wish they could have developed this part much further instead of the typical teenage romance stuff that occurs instead.

Also, the movie with it's "implied" things and "open" conclusions just felt lazy in this case. At the end, I was kinda thinking the whole thing just felt a bit cheap.

The potential here was huge, and like (almost) always with movies like that, it was wasted.

Is it implied that he killed Caleb or is it open to interpretation?

it is heavily implied he did, but there is room for interpretation. i think it works best that way.

Caleb was just above the wheel in the situation before the sequence ends. So if he dropped him, the wheel would be broken and it is not.

Good movie... have no idea what the name of it has to do with the actual movie though!

It's labelled as a "thriller" on TubiTV, but it's anything but. It's just a solid drama worth watching.

I haven't read the book this is based on, so can't comment on that, but seeing a post-apocalyptic three-hander starring Margot Robbie, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Chris Pine, I was drawn in. This is a very meditative piece as you slowly explore each of the characters and their interactions with each other. Each actor does an amazing job and you can feel the various struggles that each goes through. This triangle, however, leads to some stressful and tense moments between the three, culminating in a very open-ended and open-to-interpretation ending. There are some moments that are very uplifting, but by the time the credits roll, a heavy, somber tone takes center stage, which seems appropriate for this type of post-apocalyptic film. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a character study in lieu of action.
