Brings back a lot of fun memories…I remember glutting myself back in the 80's on the goriest, most gruesome films I could find in the video stores, and after seeing a trailer for _"Dr. Butcher, M.D."_ (as it was billed in the U.S.) on a different video, I was determined to find it and watch it. I remember being completely enthralled with all the gore, guts, blood and violence back then...and hardly paid any attention to the movie itself. Watching it now, it's actually laughable, the acting is so absolutely atrocious. Yes, there are some scenes that are still pretty gruesome - even by today's standards - but they're so outlandish that it makes this almost seem "campy" rather than a true horror film. After watching it this time, I'm kind of confused as to whether this was supposed to be a "cannibal" movie or a "zombie" movie. The cannibals kind of stole the show; there wasn't much zombie action here and the handful of times zombies showed up, they didn't do much; on the contrary, it was the cannibals that were ripping the guts out of everyone. So much of this was (again, by today's standards) utterly ridiculous…to the point of being laughable, but it was still a fun watch **purely for nostalgic reasons.** Anyone watching this for the first time will - in all likelihood - be completely disappointed and/or disgusted with how lame the acting is. On the other hand, if - instead of viewing this as a "horror" film - you watch it as a schlock campy movie with a bit of gore thrown in, you'll most likely get a big laugh out of it. And I'm just sayin'…that looked suspiciously like the very same building that was used in _Zombie Flesh-Eaters_ (billed in the U.S. simply as _Zombie_ ). Anyone else notice that?
