Overall a pretty good show. It can be a bit slow at times, but it was still an enjoyable watch.

It's a shame they didn't make more episodes for season 1 - I would have liked to see it continue on a bit more.

Great cast, interesting story but it could have been a LOT better. The constant flash-backs and fast forwards, with no way of telling what part of the timeline you're in until you've been it for 5 minutes, coupled with gloomy lighting, jitterycamera work, often partially or completely concealed characters making it hard to make out who is who and, worst of all, the glacial pace of the story make this a real hard slog. You absolutely need to pay 100% attention while as the story unfolds which I don't mind but the chosen approach to delivering the story made it more difficult than it should be, so much so that they had to introduce a totally made up character in the form of Lily Thomas (new generation, anti-establishment but all laid on way too thick!) as Elliot's MI5 interviewer, just to give the audience clear signposting as to what the heck is going on. Bit of a wasted opportunity really as this story could have been told in a much more interesting and enjoyable way.

Pretty good show, But Anna Maxwell Martins inconsistent Geordie accent is distracting, i mean, she's from Bev, nr Hull, so she's more "err nerr therrs sneer on ther reeerd" (Oh no, there's snow on the road) or "mama mia" (Mum, I'm here) than "wae'aye man" (Yes) or “Howay man” (Hurry Up)

[Britbox] It is one of those series that seems to go against the grain, that takes care of the dialogues and maintains a structure that is not as complex as it seems, but above all treats viewers as intelligent people. It has the texture of spy movies from another time, while the scenes that Damian Lewis and Guy Pearce share shine especially, bringing a fictional character to the story that serves as a counterpoint to the world of white English gentlemen who were part of the British intelligence service, and that talks about the fragility of patriotism.

First episode or two are kinda slow, confusing and boring. But then the rest of the show shifts into higher gear and it becomes a great spy drama. Love all the important twists that you can easily miss if you don't pay attention.

Great performances by Pearce and Lewis.

Given the two main actors I was a little disappointed with this. D Lewis performance particular is a let down. Good ensemble cast.

Slower than peanut butter running uphill during a snowstorm.
After the second episode I couldn't take it anymore. Done.
