A marvelous adventure that ends with a warm, gooey cookie for your soul.

This summary reflects more on the last two episodes of the show, but leading up to it were the adrenaline-driven , musical fantasy, yaoi-romance that we’ve been wanting fan-serviced to us in a fionna and cake show (although personally I did call out that I would have still loved to see the modern life of Fionna and Cake just as well). Overall, episodes 1-8 were a perfect precursor to the its humbling conclusion.

I loved the reflection of Simon’s romance with Betty and the appreciation that Fionna came to have for her own world. For all the adventure and misfitting she felt, the reality that came to be became one that was embraced.

This parallels well even for Simon, as happiness comes from acceptance and gratitude. The little things, like enjoying a good cup of tea, texting your friends, and living life are all important. The feelings are not limited to anyone of any age or experience either.

It’s easy to forget that in the hustle and bustle of daily life, so I love the little reminder with the doctor that this is something we relearn and forget, especially if it’s something we’re not inherently born to think this way.

@coffeesprout why is everyone talking like this is over? The page says it's continuing. Am I wrong? We should get another season

@chocoloctopus There's still more to explore in the show, but the ending has a more polished finish where it seems like the showrunners weren't necessarily expecting to have a second season. I'm no expert, but the quality of the show (cinematically) also seemed higher compared to a series that knows it'll be running on TV for longer.

Network demand and audience reception might change the potential for a second season, but since they had that other spinoff "Distant Lands" I'm not keeping my hopes too high on continuation. It would be awesome to see more though!

What a comeback. This show reminded me of how much I used to love Adventure Time because of the excitement, mystery, laughter, crying, and certainly adventure.I'm writing this review when the first two episodes of the show air, so I'll just review them.

The beginning of the first episode shows us the world of Fionna and what the human world would be like if the mushroom bomb had not exploded. I liked in this episode the amount of details present, and this would indicate the extent of the interest of the writers and animators in the work. I also liked that all the new characters retained part of the The original characters’ behaviors.

The second episode I can say quite simply that it is one of the best episodes of Adventure Time, if not the best. Knowing how the life of the Ice King became after removing the crown is one of the things that we were looking forward to as fans. Also, in this episode we met a character that we had not met for a long time who brought back what he did. Nostalgia and love for adventure time. I also liked that this character still maintains his nature.

Although they are only two episodes, they reflect what the program will be like. In the end, I can say that this work is an updated version of Adventure Time.
