This is one of my top kdrama for sure!! I rarely like fantasy drama because of the ridiculous story, but the Alchemy of Souls is really good.
The first season was exhilarating, the second season made my heartache from the romance.

Also the visuals are unmatched.

whomever rated this show 1/10 before it even aired ! get a life ..

Such an amazing premier weekend ! VFX are good and hopefully the story doesn't fall flat (we believe in Hong sisters supremacy) as it reportedly will have 2 season ( 20 + 10) as per Netflix 30episodes .

@chillikun I will never understand why the hell the majority of sites out there let people rate things before they're even out...

@chillikun

> AoS is the only Kdrama that delivers the best ending in 2022

**Where do I start ?**
This has to be the best show release in 2022 and add to that its the first of its kind a mythical /magical Saeguk that heavily relies on VFX very unlike the usual genres in kdrama

**ALCHEMY OF SOULS 1** was funny with chemistry between the main leads peaked but you wouldn't feel the romance much. Jung So-min has given a master class performance and Lee Jae-wook filled in big shoes.

**ALCHEMY OF SOULS 2 WORTH EVERY MILISECOND!!** it completes the show . We were all wondering if Go Youn-jung would be able to fill in the shows of the veteran Jung So-min and u can see in the very first episode she has done her study on Mu-deok behavior right to the speech pattern and you would feel same Naksu in Mudeok . Go Youn-Jung will be the future star !! she will be catapulted to stardom after this .

Also finally Hong sisters
give us an happy ending ; as right until the finale i thought this could be another disappointment
. if only they timed it a better to end last weekend it would salvaged the disappointment of last year but nevertheless here is hoping for good endings from 2023.

Uk (Light) and Yeong (Darkness) are the guiding stars for each other out of darkness and warmth in the night . Its crazy that they had such a great chemistry even with cast being changed for one part.

The support cast has been great Hwan Min Hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo In Su, Arin and they all deserve applauds .
I might not have liked Arins cutesy acting but i feel she matured as the show progressed.

Yu Jun-Sang and Oh Na-ra have been a treat to watch . While Park Jin being righteous and clueless ; frustrated and made us laugh at the same time. Kim Do Ju was a great pair for him .

Mama Jin and Uncle Jin were the source of most trouble ; one out of sense of duty for Jinowon and one for the greed of being deprived of that duty ; while manipulated people around for goals Mama Jin saw the light while Jin Mu fell further to darkness.

I am really happy that there is finally a drama that delivers to the end in 2022 as it has been a year of disappointments for everyone

Don’t be deceived, although there is drama, sword play, adventure, mystery, court intrigue, a fantasy world, and even a tiny bit of horror, this is a Romantic Comedy, and a good one at that (this from someone who is very picky about RomComs). The characters are wonderfully written and performed. The romance has all the craziness that is involved in falling in love, and not just for the main couple, but for several other pairs. Although I reserve my ratings of 8, and above, for series that I will rewatch, this series was hard for me to rate because I probably will not rewatch the whole 30 (one hour and 15 minute) episodes, but I will be definitely be revisiting some really great scenes. I rate this series a high 7 (delightful romance) out of 10. [Fantasy RomCom]

This is definitely a high fantasy drama. Flashy but impressive visual effects, charming characters and colourful costumes. If you are a fan of star crossed fantasy with strong saguek elements, this will be the show for you!

Every single lead character, and secondary character has angst, sacrifices themselves for each other over and over, but magically lives just because of ‘plot armour’. The villain seems to never get caught, despite everyone knowing it was him all along.
Even he is resurrected before the end.
It took me a long time (over a year) to finish it, and at 30 episodes over two parts… it’s too damn long. But for a Hong Sisters drama (the majority of which I d.n.f) it was okay.

Absolutely loved this show!
This is one of the rare times that a cast is perfect and make the character realistic. The character development on the Jang Uk and The Crown Prince was amazing.
Initially I thought we episodes were long and too many, but I didn't realize how fast I went through the series. Story was on point, each minute interaction also had an reason, the VFX were stunning for a Netflix show.
Top contenders for Best KDrama of the year for me.

Here in Germany, Netflix doesn't yet have episode 21 or 22, and this is depressing. It's like they really don't care about us.

I'm extremely disappointed that Season 2 is not English dubbed and only offers English subtitles. I'm here to watch a series, not read it! Although Season 1 was amazing, I'm rating this series a 2/10 since I have no desire to read Season 2.
