While it's true that the show is partially scripted, I don't think it takes anything away from how ingenious it is. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant go out of their way to put Karl Pilkington in hilarious and uncomfortable situations all around the world. Whether a true persona or not, Karl is a simple minded-man, who has never traveled outside his small town and hates doing things outside his comfort zone. There is not a lot that Karl likes or understands. Ricky & Stephen make sure to push every button for our enjoyment. The first season has Karl exploring the countries of each of the Seven Wonders. Each episode of the second season has Karl fulfilling bucket list items, but not Karl's. They let him choose 7 things to do from a list of a 100. Needless to say, Ricky and Stephen have plenty of surprises for Karl along the way. Warwick Davis joins Karl for the last season. Their strong dislike for each other is hilarious. Funny all the way through. I belly-laughed so many times. Don't hesitate to watch this if you're looking for some fun.
