4 episodes in and I'm still unsure if I like it or not. It moves along at snail's pace. Bass Reeves doesn't believe in wasting time talking, so he doesn't say a whole lot.

His oldest daughter has to be the ugliest women/girls on TV - yikes!

Update: Watched episode 5 and that's me done... can't take it anymore

3/10

Although it's not created by Taylor Sheridan, has his touch as executive producer.
So far a solid start with 2 episodes out.
I loved it.

[SkyShowtime] David Oyelowo delivers a complex portrayal of the character's rage and frustration throughout the story. During the season we witness the moral cost of carrying out his work, often faced with the persistence of racist attitudes. The first episodes tell the chronicle of a man who frees himself from slavery to try to lead a life in freedom, while the second half, once Bass Reeves adopts his position as a man of law, delves into a personal contradiction about the way in which he has become a representative of the very laws created and imposed by the white man, the same ones that justified slavery. But this introspective character that the story adopts slows down the pace and makes it somewhat more boring in the last episodes.

All I have to say in response to you Mr. SpeedDemon is really? This is the highlight of your comment for a tv show based on the late 1800’s. Maybe the girls you’re looking for can be found on pornhub? Just a thought to help you out for what you need in viewing material

The words based on a true story always get my attention. Bass Reeves actually went from slave to deputy. This was my first introduction to this man’s story. I hope it willl not be my last. Definitely worth your time. But the show should have been longer.

I really wanted to like this show since it is about a fascinating person. The production value and acting are top notch. However the story line is not related to the real history whatsoever.
Officer Reeves had nothing to do with tracking down racists that were killing ex slaves. He never transferred any black suspect over to the Texas Rangers that got murdered.
He was not stone killer as portrayed, and only killed 14 outlaws over his entire 32 year career. In reality almost all the people he worked with including the man who recommended him for the badge were ex-confederate soldiers.

This show seems to follow the fashionable trend of revising history to one where the past was over the top exaggeratedly racist than historically recorded.

Looks good and great actors, can’t say if it’s very accurate. But it doesn’t seem to be, I’ll defer to experts. If f it’s supposed to have a plot it fails to communicate it.
